FAQs

Is the Capital City Century a ride or a race?

The Capital City Century is a recreational ride and as such, there are no prizes for the fastest rider. However, in the spirit of friendly competition, the 2024 ride will be chip timed.

Is there ample parking at the Sherman Athletic Club?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Sherman Athletic Club and the adjacent field. You may also park along First Street.

Are helmets required to participate?

While we can’t enforce a helmet requirement, we do ask that you consider your personal safety and wear a helmet.

Are e-bikes allowed at the Capital City Century?

Class 1 and Class 3 (no throttle) e-bikes are welcome.

Does my entry fee include a free t-shirt?

Entry fees for 2024 do not include the event t-shirt that has traditionally been part of the fee. You may purchase a t-shirt separately when registering, and we will have a limited supply of extra shirts available for purchase at the Sherman Athletic Club before and after the ride. The decision to offer a t-shirt separately was based on rider feedback and also allows us to keep registration fees low.

What kind of food do you offer at aid stations?

Looking to refuel during your ride at the Capital City Century? Our aid stations have you covered! In addition to the usual selection of prepackaged bars and gels, we’ll be serving up some heartier fare that will satisfy your cravings. Picture this: sizzling bacon, fluffy pancakes, juicy hotdogs, savory quesadillas, mouthwatering pulled pork, and more delectable options, depending on the aid station you visit. So, get ready to reward yourself with a delicious pit stop and make your ride even more memorable.

I don't want to get lost. Are the routes marked?

Getting lost on a ride is no fun and we take precautions to prevent that. All routes will be marked with color-coded arrows and signs, and GPS files will be available for download.  There will also be a paper map included in your packet.

Is there a time limit?

Riders on the Century start as early as 7 a.m. We shut down SAG support at 4:30 p.m. but keep track of the last riders in. All riders should start no later than 10 AM. Food Service wraps up at 5:00 p.m.

What if the weather is bad? Will you reschedule?

The CCC is held rain or shine and we do not plan to reschedule in the event of inclement weather. Please note that CCC registrations are non-refundable.

Will there be an event jersey?

Yes, we will offer a custom event jersey from Borah Teamwear. You can order a jersey when registering for the Capital City Century.
